Our extensive experience working with children at high risk of mistreatment, abandonment, and exploitation (as well as with their families and communities) led HRI to make Child Protection a priority in our work. Our Child Protection programs are mostly centered around women’s empowerment initiatives both in communities and orphanages.
HRI has prevented the abandonment and trafficking of more than 500 children.

HRI believes that every parent wants the best for their children, and that parents are the most important teachers in their children’s lives – especially mothers.

HRI provides micro-enterprise training and loan opportunities to victims of economic insecurity in communities struck by extreme poverty, high rates of illiteracy, and areas with little to no sources of opportunity – most of whom are women. HRI also leads a micro-enterprise training program to set up orphaned and abandoned youth for success before they age out of the orphanages where they live.
