2022 was a year of challenges and achievements for HRI. In Haiti, we saw widespread unrest and gang violence, inflation of 52% on food and fuel, and a cholera outbreak that affected large swaths of the population. HRI stepped in quickly ensuring that less than 4% of the 400+ children in orphanages HRI partners with were infected with this deadly, yet preventable disease.

In Guatemala, our school breakfast program ensured that vulnerable children received nourishing food every day, youth programs reached hundreds of young people around the country, and we launched a very successful micro-enterprise training program for women. HRI experienced growth and new visibility in both Haiti and Guatemala!

2022 was the 12th year working in these countries. HRI set a new standard of service! We will continue the strategic and systematic gains made in 2022 and expand our services in ways that will impact thousands more in Haiti and Guatemala. Thank you for your commitment to HRI!
